Moving on
Trying to work on a set list for Columbus Arts Festival. Since I won the competition (written poetry plus audition), I'm determined to have new or seldom-heard work to present for at least 75% of the set. If anyone's interested, I'll be reading at the arts fest Friday, June 2, and 7:00 p.m.
Salon this weekend. Looking forward to hearing and getting feedback on new poems.
Officially notified I did not place in the Tor Hour Poetry competition. Only submitted one poem, dear to my but apparently not to the judges' hearts.
Working on a full-length manuscript. Missed one intended deadline, but have a couple of others in mind.
Missed Is Said's wife's wake. I did not know her, but I'm certain she must have been a beautiful person. Brother Is Said has been a pillar of Columbus' poetry community for many years. I pray that he will find comfort in knowing she experienced a life well lived.
Probably will miss National Poetry Slam in Austin this year. Many transitions going on in my life, and I cannot commit to a week of travel when I don't know whether I will have vacation time to support it.
Many well wishes to anyone who happens onto this page.
Rose
